Highly readable
Excellent introduction to the vegan world citing at least 4 valid reasons for eating a vegan diet: Health, weight control, animal welfare, environment.

Never Eat Meat Again
Finally a book you can give your non-vegan friends, and say "Look, argue with these facts." I have been searching for quite some time for a book to give my boyfriend which intelligently explains all my reasons for going vegan, and why it's the best choice. This book does so beautifully. The author obviously spent a lot of time with the scholars he chose to reference in this book. It's so well researched, and his sources are credible for once! It strengthens your arguments so much more when you have harvard doctors backing you up! Get this book! It tells nothing but the truth!I am so happy to finally have an author who really wants to show the world that vegans are not just a bunch of animal loving hippies, but intelligent people who want to make the world a better place...and who also love animals. Add this book to your collection, you won't be dissapointed.

Erik Marcus... you did it sir!!!
This book will not tell you the hows, but it certainly will tell you the whys. Erik Marcus has done a masterful job of introducing non-vegans to the vegan perspective. Even if you have no interest in becoming vegan or vegetarian, it still wouldn't hurt to read this. If you choose to eat meat, you should have all the information that's out there.

If you care about animals, buy this book ANYWHERE ELSE but here
Amazon dot com kills animals by supporting the fur industry.

I liked the book, but am saddened that I bought it from a company that SELLS FUR. I am sick and sad that I ever gave Amazon a single dime. I am not the only one. Amazon execs should understand that there are many more people out here who are offended at the butchering deaths of helpless animals for ridiculous VANITY, than there are people who would actually go to amazon to buy their FUR COATS. I ask that others please reconsider buying any more products from these people until they stop selling fur, and stop sending out cookie-cutter form letters to those of us who give a damn about the lives of others. (No, it is not enough to claim that they're merely trying to "give the customer what they want even if it offends some people. Would they say that if I wanted to buy heroin? If I wanted to buy a nuclear weapon? If I wanted to buy an Indonesian House Boy??? Not good enough. Some things are so reprehensible that society demands that they NOT sell them. Although, I'm sure that if they could, they would, so long as it was profitable.)

Take the profit out of death and join me in boycotting Amazon. And tell your friends. There are hundreds of other sites that sell great books, often cheaper, that do not profit from the deaths of innocent animals.

Why to be a Vegan
I have been a vegetarian toying with going full bore to Vegan. I have read several books on food ethics & this one is by far the best. After reading it, I am a full-fledged Vegan. This book was not how to be a vegan, but WHY to be a vegan & he made his point quite plainly. Thanks, Erik, keep up the good work.
