I call this my "George Hamilton"
This is a fabulous grill for 1 or 2. You can do 2 big strip steaks or 3-4 hamburgers, or 6 bratwurst. It's got a timer with a bell. What's great is the grids pop out and go in the sink! Nothing easier to clean. I had a big "George" but it was a pain to clean. You can't go wrong with this grill. You can also open it up and have double, but one sided. GREAT value for the money!
HB Meal Maker grill
I am almost 70 and wanted a "quick and clean" hamburger maker. This one is PERFECT! Easy to clean ...fabulous burgers that have the fat drained off and quick for use (about 10 minutes including warm-up for the first two and 5 min a pair thereafter.) ..Highly recommend this ...and the price was nice compared to the less attractive Foreman series.
Replacement for our 10 year old George Foreman.
We finally wore the teflon off of old George. No complaints, we got our money's worth and then some. But looking for a small replacement with a timer couldn't be found so we tried the Hamilton Beach. Like it so far, only the drip pan is flimsy.
Meal Maker Express
I love the Meal maker express. I had a previous one that I used for years. This one has removable plates, is easy to wash, and has a timer. It makes cooking a breeze.
The Quality of these grills has declined.
I've bought three of these grills over the past several years. The first grill lasted 4 or 5 years and operated like clockwork until it ran out of gas from old age. The second one only lasted a year. I bought a third a few months ago and right from the start, the clip holding the top grill in placed was slipping, causing the top to slip out of alignment when you closed the grill for cooking. Today, the power light went off and I have no heat even with the cord plugged in and thus cannot grill my food today. I have to replace it again. I am extremely annoyed. This used to be a quality product that I told many people about. Not any more. I am buying another brand. No more Hamiltin Beach for me.
