Customer Response
review of Denny and Kathy's Ace for panini griddler
I ordered two of these griddlers for xmas, order on the 14th for two day delivery, knowing one of the recipients was going out of town on the 22nd. ONe got delivered, one was never sent and no notice given. On the 18th I inquired directly to the store, and they informed me that they were out of stock. So I was unable to get another out in time for xmas. I also would have preferred their contacting me since I placed an order for two different families and I would have chosen who should get the one on time. They never notified me until I contacted them.
Very poor customer service.Cuisinart GR-2 Griddler Express Contact Grill
LOVE IT
After owning my grill for a month, all I can say is I love it! I really only cook sandwiches, but chicken cutlets grill nicely on rainy days when you don't want to stand outside.
LOVE IT.....
This is the most fantastic griddler/panini machine.. I have used it so many times, and each time I am thrilled with the results.. I have created amazing Panini's, grilled bacon, sausages, ham slices on and on and on... It works perfect every time. I had debated between this one and a more expensive model.. I am sooo glad I choose this one.. IT is all that I could ask for.. The plates are not removeable.. However,.. It is a breeze to clean anyhow...I would recommend this to anyone...LOVE IT....
Great once you get the cleaning routine down
I thought this model had removable plates but it doesn't. At first this was a pain in the neck but I've learned how to clean it. I don't use the grease cup, I just put some paper towels under the drip area. The grill cleans best when it's hot and you use a very wet cloth or wet paper towels.
I mostly cook burgers, chicken breasts and sandwiches on it, I also grill vegetables. It's fantastic for making pressed Cuban sandwiches! The grill heats up really fast and gets very hot so that is a big plus when cooking a lot of things. On days I don't feel like using the outdoor gas grill, this is a great and very effective alternative. The only caution I'd make is that food cooks very quickly so be careful not to overcook your food. It can happen very easily.
I've used it about six months and I am very pleased with this grill. I thought that one with removable plates would be a better thing to have, but I've read that they don't work as well as the fixed-plate grillers. So I'm satisfied and would recommend this grill.
Two design flaws
Great idea but two flaws: (1) if you cook something greasy, when you open it the grease drips off the top plate and onto the counter; (2) the "mobile" grease collector cup is easy to bump and spill since it is not attached (would it have been so hard to just have a small clip or ledge to hook it to the grill?) Cleaning is not that easy either. All in all, it's one of those things that might have enough "issues" that it remains in the cabinet/garage unused rather than becoming a regular appliance.
