Customer Response

Why complicate matters with all those small cups?
This yogurt maker makes great yogurt. My only complaint is the cleaning of seven small cups. If you want to make one large batch of yogurt instead of seven small batches, just buy a 7-cup glass bowl, either from Anchor Hocking or from Corning (Pyrex), and use it in place of the seven small cups. The glass bowl fits nicely underneath the lid of the yogurt maker. I found the 7-cup Pyrex bowl at Kmart for $6 but you can order the Anchor Hocking here at Amazon if you want: Anchor Hocking TrueSeal Glass Storage Container - Round - 7 cups

Fantastic appliance
Have to say that this sat in the cupboard for quite a while. I had tried it a few times, the first couple of time I wasn't using the right amount of starter (the packaging confused me) and the whole boiling the milk process took too much time and wasn't worth the hassle. But then I read the instruction booklet a little more and decided to try "European" style. It's not as firm as you might be used to with Dannon or other mass markets, but I like it a lot. The kicker - you don't boil the milk! So now to make yogurt, I pour fresh milk (I usually use nonfat or 2%) directly into the glass containers pour starter into each container and let it sit overnight. Ready to put in the refrigerator in the morning!

Another yogurt maker going back to the store!
This is the second yogurt maker I've bought in the last couple of months. I sent the first one back (Tribest YoLife) because it cooked the yogurt on too high of a temperature and ruined it ... killed the culture. The Euro Cuisine YM80 did make yogurt, but it turned out grainy, I think from being cooked too high. Afterwards, I did a couple water tests, putting 110 degree water in the jars and putting them into the yogurt maker, turning it on and testing the temperature every hour or so. The temperature kept climbing, all the way up to 120 degrees. That is too hot to make yogurt. I am taking this product back to the store and won't be purchasing another yogurt maker. I've since discovered that my oven will keep the temperature around 110-115 degrees, perfect for making yogurt. Who needs another appliance, anyway, when there are other ways to make yogurt?

Yogurt at home
I love this little yogurt maker! It sits on my cabinet, does it's job perfectly, and then tucks away without taking up a lot of room. Makes 7 jars at a time, requires no maintenance. It does collect moisture inside the lid, but a couple of times during the yogurt-making process I remove it quickly, wipe it out, and replace it without disturbing the yogurt. Highly recommend it!
