Customer Response
DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM
This item really irked me. If you buy this you will not only be out the $20 to buy it, you will waste time and money on tanks you don't need because it is temperamental and YOU won't know it. When I bought it and installed it the tank was full for a day. Then it said the tank was empty. Bought a new tank. Full. Didn't use the grill for a month, empty again. Must have a leak. Bought another tank. Full for a day. Then empty. Put a new tank on, this time it said the brand new full tank was empty. I finally realized I have a faulty unit, too late to get a refund. Cost me a wasted $20 that now I can't return, $35 in extra tanks I didn't need, and instead of solving a problem it created a whole new hassle. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM.
Good idea - bad implementation
The idea of being able to tell how much gas you have left is a good one. However, once I purchased this product I realized that I still have the same problem I had before. The grill works until the gas is gone and then suddenly I have no more flame. Then I realized the gauge only measures pressure which stays high until the gas is gone. In addition, no amount of tinkering could keep the gauge from having a significant leak. Save your money.
Only for Use While Line is Open
I have a little Weber Baby Q with a standard tank, which I've used for almost a year or so. I cook often, but my pit doesn't use very much gas. Sometimes I cook for just myself and other times, I could cook for 6 or more or slow cook something. I didn't want to be slow cooking something and run out so I picked this up.
It installs extremely easy and is very easy to read. You're not going to get an accurate reading on it unless to gas line is open so is everything is closed off, don't look at the gauge and trust the reading.
3 stars because it's a little pricey but I still like my purchase.
Works just fine
This item works just fine and answers the question of how much gas is left in the tank.
lp gas reg meter
what i have found is that you have to turn on the gas valve and wait for a few seconds until the meter has registered the reading and you hear a click sound from the gas regulator before trying to light up your barbq....... meter works great.
