A bit large for a home kitchen
A good set of tongs is indispensable for pan frying or grilling of medium sized cuts, such as steaks or chops. You can get excellent control over the food while your hand stays cool near the back of the tongs.
These particular tongs have good points and bad points. They are well constructed of stainless steel, making them durable and easy to clean, and the locking mechanism works adequately. However, the 16 inch length is excessive for home use, and the unusually large opening angle, providing a gape of 12 inches, makes the tongs less than convenient to handle.
If this is your first set of tongs, you might be happier with a more convenient size, such as 12" Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Tongs (13-0546) Category: Stainless Steel Tongs. If you specifically need oversize tongs, though, this might be a good buy.
