The vacuum pump simply extracts the air from the Vacuum Coffee Saver creating a vacuum, so that flavor and aroma of the coffee will be kept in perfect condition. Contents for up to 500 grams (1.1 lbs) coffee packs. Dishwasher safe. Also suitable for air sensitive foods such as biscuits, cookies, crisps, nuts and cereals. After purchasing one last month, I am now buying a couple of these as gifts for my family. It's a great product & it's built with quality parts. As you can imagine, a vacuum has a lot of internal pressure. The plastic is high density so as to handle the force. Well designed.
A coffee lover's Must Have!
The VacuVin Coffee Saver starter set came just as I ordered and quicker than I thought it would. The product is top quality merchandize from the Netherlands and operates just as described. In fact, this is the second one I have ordered; the first was for myself and, since I was so pleased with it, I ordered a second set as a birthday present for my Brother who loves his coffee!
Vacuvin vacuum coffee set
I bought this product because my son has one. We both like to grind our own beans, and it's hard to keep ground coffee fresh, unless you grind it fresh everyday. That's a good thing, generally, but time-consuming. The Vacuvin allows you to grind an entire pound, and save it, under vacuum, which really keeps it fresh. You also avoid cleaning the grinder every day - another good thing.
I love this product, and would definitely buy another, if something should happen to this one.
Simple and excellent
The Vacuvin Coffee Saver is the next best thing to grinding your coffee beans fresh each morning. The build quality and vacuum seal are excellent and the design is very nice. As a whole, it's nothing fancy, but it feels solid and there are no parts that are likely to fail any time soon. The smoke tinted glass also prevents the beans or grounds from getting light struck, which is nice. If you can't grind your coffee each morning, I highly recommend this over the usual generic plastic container.
Pretty good for fresh coffee
This was exactly what I was looking for to store my ground coffee, since I grind a week's worth and wanted to keep it fresh. Some of the very fine grinds occasionally stick to the rubber gasket -- so I have to wipe them off in order to ensure a good seal. And the pump to valve seal takes a bit of practice to perfect -- but, overall, I think it's a very good product.
