From the Editors

Once exposed to air, ground coffee quickly looses its flavor and aroma. The vacuum pump extracts the air from the Vacuum Coffee Saver container so that the flavor and aroma of the coffee will be kept fresh.

Customer Response

I love fresh coffee
The coffee saver really keeps coffee fresher, for a much longer time.
To insure a perfect seal, I wipe both the top of the plastic jar and lid, with a little alcohol dabbed on a piece of paper towel, and I use another piece to dry them. I do this each time that I use it, just before pumping the air out. Since using this method, I have never lost my seal, between usages.

Great product - Really keeps beans fresh
I really like this product. It works well and has caused no problems at all. Keeping the beans in it at room temperature keeps them fresher much longer. Highly recommended.

A good coffee storage container
We have two of these containers. Even after two weeks the coffee flavor is well preserved whereas without it, I would likely throw out unused coffee after one week because the coffee taste is so degraded. I have found the vacuum to hold well as long as the container and seal are kept clean of any grounds.

Doesn't hold a vaccum
The canister never held a vaccum. It was very disappointing, and I returned it. Kudos to Amazon for paying for the shipping fee.

Keeps coffee fresh for weeks
I'm very pleased with the Vacu Vin coffee saver. I only drink small amounts of coffee, so it was going bad in the cupboard before I could finish it. I tried grinding it fresh every day. With this container I was able to buy pre-ground coffee, and it has stayed fresh for weeks and there's no rush to use it up. When pumping out the air you need to press the lid down firmly, then hold the pump firmly to the lid valve while pumping vertically. It's possible to not get a seal if you're at a slight angle or haven't placed the lid properly to begin with. I thought it was quite simple to get a seal, and having a mechanical pump versus an electric device like Foodsaver is more convenient for me. There's the added bonus of building upper arm strength because you do have to put some muscle into the pump action as the vacuum is created. You might opt for a different product if arm strength is an issue. The average person would be just fine.
This size unit is plenty large enough for average bags of coffee. I'm considering getting a smaller container for daily use to save time and using the larger one for weekly access, as you do have to pump more and more as the unit empties (naturally). I'm really happy I tried this, and I'm enjoying better tasting coffee now. Enhanced coffee taste plus convenience make this worth the money.
