I'm not going to write a long diatribe on the pros of owning this product- you need it, it works great...
Just buy it-
Great concept, poor implementation
When it works, it works ok. However, almost 3/4 of the time it ends up with it NOT creating an airtight vacuum. And without pressing the air release it is almost impossible to determine if it is a airtight fit. I am junking this and moving to Vac coffee canister. That one uses batteries to electronically produce the seal.
Good product
This is a really simple, useful product. I use it to store my coffee beans and it keeps them fresh. The container is made of durable plastic and seems solidly made. I'll probably pick up a couple more.
Vacu Vin
Works like a champ so far-have had it for about 3 weeks. However people say they implode putting it in the fridge. I put it in there FIRST with it's top not on it but in there with it to 'pre-cool' it for several hours first. Haven't had any trouble with it preserving lunch meat ,etc. They'll keep for 2 or 3 mos. in a vacuum with the 'bags' from another co. but they're a pain (the bags),so this is the way to go for me!
Awesome Coffee Saver
I purchased the Vacu Vin Coffee Saver Starter Set after I watched Alton Brown on Good Eats tell me that I have been storing my coffee incorrectly for the last 40 years. I looked all over for the kind of coffee container Alton suggested, without any luck, but in the search discovered the Vacu Vin. This is awesome. I am going to get some more to use for other things This really works great. I have fresh, non-stale coffee beans, and it is so easy to use.
