From the Editors
Yogurt Cheese is a creamy cheese product produced when the whey is drained from yogurt. With a higher concentration of nutrients after the whey is removed, yogurt cheese provides a creamy smooth cheese that is low in calories, sodium, lactose, and cholesterol. Yogurt cheese made from plain yogurt has a mild flavor, which is similar to cream cheese or sour cream. As it quickly takes on the flavor of the food it is mixed with, yogurt cheese can be blended into jam, jelly, spreadable fruit, or peanut butter to be served as a spread for bagels, English muffins, or toast.

I use coffee filters
I've been straining just about everything using coffee filters and any old strainer over a bowl. Instuctions below. (I finally bought a coffee filter basket and it works even better now.)
Use 3 or 4 coffee filters in any strainer over a bowl. Fan the filters out to cover all the holes in the strainer and dump the product in quickly.
Or: Put the filter over the open quart of yogurt (or other product), then place the strainer upside down on top of that. Invert them over a bowl.
Fine bag, requires some effort though
It's a nice bag that does it's job right.
I may sound lazy for saying this, but cleaning this bag after use is quite an effort.
I was using it to thicken my yogurt a bit, as I don't like to add anything. What I have since started doing is simply drain the extra water with a spoon or a cup. It works better if I create a depression in the yogurt, because it accumulates the water.
Very good for cottage cheese making.
My wife is very happy with the product and I am very happy with the result.
Good cheese bag
I just made some good cheese with it. It works, it gets the job done. I haven't compared it with other cheese bags but it seems quite sturdy and survived my washing machine just fine - it seems to be a little tougher than a typical article of clothing.
Design-wise it's just right, no frills and nothing fancy, but using a bag instead of loose cloth solves a few problems cheese-wise. You can just pour the curds in and not worry about spillage.
Nifty little bag!
I'm confident this nifty little bag works well for its intended purpose. I bought it, though, to hang on a hook in the kitchen and use to store a few bulbs of garlic, and it's perfect for that. This is just the plain, small, sturdy cloth bag I wanted. I had looked high and low for such a bag, and I kept finding everything else -- huge bags, teensy bags, plastic bags, bags made of synthetic fabrics, ill-made bags, unwashable bags, bags with drawstrings that were reluctant to draw, and far too many bags printed with "cute" graphics or tiresome mottoes (or both). But this bag is just right -- well-made in a useful size of good cotton cloth. In fact, writing this review made me think of other uses for these bags, and I believe I'll go order more.
