Customer Response
Awesome Foreman
This is the best indoor grill ever. With its removable, interchangable, nonstick plates it makes juicy grilled chicken, burgers, steaks, pork chops that taste great in about one third the time. Quesadillas are a quick snack that my 10-year-old makes and are delicious. What a time and energy saver. Best thing is the removable plates that make for quick clean-up. I don't recommend the dishwasher though. It tends to make them oxidize on the back.
Wife loves it
Cooked everything I have tried evenly. I used a previously recommended way of removing the sticker (hair dryer) and worked fine. The changeable plates stayed in place but only if properly - I used a permanent marker to mark the plate with a 'L' and 'R' because if it is turned around, the plate falls off. When the lid is fully opened, it is too high to fit under most cabinets - I use mine on an island I have in the kitchen. The removable plates makes for easy cleanup.
THE BEST GRILL I EVER USED
MY HUSBAND AND I USE THIS ALL THE TIME. IT COOKS ALMOST EVERYTHING TEN TIMES BETTER THAN A MICROWAVE. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE TEMPERATURE GETS KIND OF HIGH EVEN WHEN ON LOW HEAT. YOU HAVE TO WATCH WHEN YOU ARE COOKING SO THE FOOD DOES NOT GET BURNED. I HAVE COOKED GRILLED CHEESE ON THIS AND THE CHEESE MELTS QUICKLY AND THE BREAD IS TOASTED TO PERFECTION. I WATCHED THE VIDEO OF A CUSTOMER WHO HAD TROUBLE WITH THE PLATES ON THE GRILL. I DID AT FIRST BUT AFTER MY HUSBAND PUT THEM ON THEY HAVE NOT FALLEN OFF SINCE. I CAN SEE HOW THIS WOULD BE A PROBLEM ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIKE TO CHANGE THE PLATES OFTEN. THE COMPANY SHOULD PROBABLY COME UP WITH A BETTER WAY TO KEEP THE GRILLING PLATES ON. OTHER THAN THAT I DO NOT KNOW WHAT WE WOULD DO WITHOUT IT. I CAN SAY ONE THING WE WOULD BE OUT IN SNOW GRILLING AT -10 IF THIS WHERE AN OUTDOOR GRILL. IT WOULD TOTALLY BE WORTH FROST BITE.
Don't buy it!
I bought it for the size mainly. When I received it, the label that covered the whole black part of top of the grill would not peel off completely--it left the sticky part on most of the top. It is not water soluble! I tried with a little abrasion to get it off and it started to scratch. It is plastic so any solvent might have dissolved it. The instruction book said just peel of label. I called customer service for Black and Decker and was told to warm it up. I did not try that as by that time did not want it. Amazon did not answer email for help. Finally got a phone no. for Amazon throught Black and Decker Service Center. No place on Amazon's web site is there a phone no. to talk to a real person!!!
sticker solution
I just received my grill yesterday, but had to share my sticker solution. Before buying, I read all the frustrated reviews about the sticker, and couldn't see what the big deal was...till I got mine. I tried getting the monster sticky sticker off as soon as I opened it. The best I could do was to get very small slivers of the sticker off the edges. Figured I'd have to try the blow dryer, Goo-Gone, WD-40 and/or wet towel possibilities. I decided to leave the sticker for the moment, and try out my new grill. After it had warmed up (medium high)for about 3 minutes (they recommend a 5 minute warm up), I decided to give the sticker another try while I was waiting. Peeled slowly, and it came off like a charm! No sticky goo, no scratch marks, nothing! Awesome! I followed it up with a yummy quesadilla...salmon steaks tonight. So far, loving my new, sticker-free grill!
